The Spider Pit is a military building where Spider-units are recruited for the Goblin faction - namely, the Spiderlings (when the building is at Level 1) and the Goblin Spider Riders (at Level 2). At Level 3, the Venom Sacs upgrade for Spiderlings can be researched there.
