Merry as seen in Peter Jackson's films
Merry is criminally cheap hero (initially only 100 ressources) for the Rohan faction in BFME 1. He is useful for both scouting and assisting in combat, able to very quickly reach level 10 because of the few experience points he needs and of the ability to gain it from surrounding units and heroes.
In The Battle for Middle-earth II, Merry can only be summoned by the Summon Hobbit Allies power, and appears side-by-side with Sam, Frodo, Pippin and a group of Hobbits.
Battle for Middle Earth 1[]
Overview[]
Merry is a good scout/spy and the cheap glass-cannonball of Rohan. He deals the same ranged damage as Faramir of the Gondor faction and only slightly lower than that melee damage. At the same time, Merry is extremely vulnerable to any attacks even when on maximal level. If used wisely, he can low-key do huge difference on the battlefield.
Skill | Description |
---|---|
Toogle
Throw Rocks/Use Sword |
Merry switches between using his sword and throwing rocks at enemies. If Enemy is moving substentialy, thrown rocks have high chance of missing the target. |
Elven Cloak | Merry turns invisible to both friend (allied players) and foe. Moving removes the effect. Defensive structures will not detect him. Merry will be exposed by Eye of Sauron and Palantir. |
Trivia[]
- Merry can be detected in an alternative way to Eye of Sauron and Palantir. If a hero possesses ranged ability and the player right clicks on it, turning it to automated use, that hero will target the nearest enemy, even if he is invisible. This functions only if the automated use option is being turned on.
- Despite having lower melee damge, using a sword is preferable for destroying structures. Merry's melee attack speed is high and suffers no reduction when attacking buildings.
Requirements and stats[]
BFME 2[]
When summoned, Merry has 700 health-points. His damage stats are the same as above.
