King Dain (known fully as Dain II Ironfoot) is a hero belonging to the Dwarven faction who rules the mountain of Erebor.

The Dwarves of Erebor have only recently reestablished their kingdom in this region, aided by the assistance of the Men of Dale. The King Under the Mountain, Dain II, is a wise and stubborn ruler. Dain II is great friends with Brand, leader of the Men in Dale. Together, they have created a time of prosperity in a region that benefits both Dwarf and Man. His might and influence demands the respect of all Dwarves. When Dain leads troops in battle, he is fearless and inspires courage in the face of any adversary. The wealth of Erebor affords him armor, an axe, and a shield of the utmost quality.
