Hill Trolls, available only in The Rise of the Witch-king, are a race of beast that hail from swampy lands located near Rhudaur and Angmar, that were brought into the Witch-king's army. In the Angmar faction, they are a squad of trolls wielding long hammers. Unlike Snow Trolls, they do not trample enemies, but are uniquely strong against cavalry.

Hill Trolls are also a new species of Custom hero in The Rise of the Witch-king.
Angmar's Troll Stone Throwers are manned by a pair of Hill Trolls.
